Manufacturing sector generates USD 103 mln PDF Print E-mail

Ethiopia has secured more than 103.7 million dollars revenue from the manufacturing sector during the past five months of this fiscal year, 2011/12, the Ministry of Industry reportedly said. Citing  Ministry Corporate Communications Director, Melaku Taye, the stated revenue was secured from textiles and garment, leather and leather products, agro processing, pharmaceuticals and chemicals.

Ethiopia has registered tremendous achievements in maternal and child mortality rate reduction over the past few years, UNFPA Executive Director Dr. Babatunde Osotimehin said In a press conference he gave here on Friday the Executive Director , who is here for an official visit said encouraging results have been registered in maternal and Child mortality rate reduction in Africa. He said especially Ethiopia’s efforts in maternal and child mortality is commendable.

Foreign Affairs Minister Dr. Tewodros Adhanom has confirmed that Ethiopia will remain resolute in strengthening the Inter-governmental Authority on Development (IGAD).
While conferring with IGAD Executive Secretary Eng. Mahboub Maalim here on Thursday, Dr. Tewodros said Ethiopia will attach great importance for IGAD’s effort towards regional integration.
